Consumers Tag

The FCA has launched a consultation called A new Consumer Duty.  This post covers the reasons why the Regulator feels the new consultation is required, its areas of focus and explains why we believe all firms involved in the manufacture or supply of products and services to retail clients, should engage positively with the consultation, even if they do not have a direct relationship with the end customer.

...and hope springs eternal

We ran the spring sentiment survey in the last week of April (we waited until after the first round of the French presidential election on 23rd April) until mid May. In all, there were 84 responses. Fund groups represented 62%, platforms 25% and distributors 13%. The audience was mainly British (77% ) and the rest cross-border.

It's November already and the pressure is on with our two quarterly publications, the Platform Report and the Distribution Report, due out in the next couple of weeks.  Not that the work hasn't been ramping up already.  Last week I was up in cold, but sunny Edinburgh for Matrix Solutions' annual Financial-Clarity conference, and yesterday the same seminar was held at the Shard in London, so prepping for both has taken some time. You can find a link to my presentation here. We're in the midst of data collection for the Platform Report. There are always one or two late submissions but the half-term holiday has thrown us off course a little.  We're hoping that we can recover lost ground and publish the report as expected on 6th November, but it's looking unlikely.
